September 20, 2010 I went down to the beach today in search of my 587th Photo of the Day, which, after much introspection, I've decided will be my last. So, after 18 months of taking and posting photos every single day (save just one day when I posted a photo from the day before) I am folding up my tent here at the Smug Mug dailies. It has been an incredible journey. For some weeks now I have known that it is time for me to quit this wonderful but time-consuming undertaking. My creativity and inspiration have been flagging of late, and I often find myself posting images that just aren’t worth a public airing. So, rather than burn myself out by continuing, I’ve decided to take a break from this community (and my own personal commitment to this photo-a-day challenge) and recharge my creative batteries. I want to thank everyone here for all your comments and support over the past year and a half. There are a lot of great people here in the Dailies who give more than they get, and I know I would never have made it this far without all the kind words and enthusiasm that bounces around this lively community.
